A Night of Community, Cuisine,
and Connection at Vizcaya Village
MIAMI – January 8, 2025 – Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, in partnership with Florida Organic Growers and Consumers (FOG), is thrilled to announce the 2025 edition of the highly anticipated “Dinner for Farmers.” This year’s event will take place on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the historic Vizcaya Village, celebrating South Florida’s vibrant agricultural community and the individuals who sustain it.
“The ‘Dinner for Farmers’ initiative is deeply rooted in Vizcaya’s agricultural heritage.,” said Sheila Gutierrez, Vizcaya’s Urban Farming Programs Manager. “Originally built with its own farm and village, Vizcaya has always been a testament to the power of self-sustainability. Today, the event bridges the past and present, celebrating local food systems while inspiring future growth and sustainability efforts.”
Since 2016, the “Dinner for Farmers” program has honored the hardworking farmers, ranchers, chefs, educators, and key food actors who play an essential role in our local food system. Local food actors are defined as individuals participating in the action of producing, promoting, providing and/or selling local foods in their communities. This invitation-only event offers an evening of exceptional dining, networking, and entertainment, fostering connections among those dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture.
“FOG is excited to collaborate on this event, and, as part of our USDA-funded Florida Local Food Project, we aim to increase access and consumption of local foods by strengthening relationships between local food actors,” said Lana Chehabeddine, FOG Assistant Programs Manager.
FOG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that began in 1987, as a grassroots organization, at a farm’s kitchen table. Its mission is to support and promote organic, sustainable, and regenerative agriculture.
