What if I forgot to make a reservation or they’re all booked. Can I still come?
Reservations are currently required and are limited to 10 per day. You can purchase the reservation day-of from our website, but since there is a limit that we are allowing each day you may want to get the permit in advance. The daily limit of 10 per day is temporary, and to ensure social distancing and the safety of all our visitors.
What if I also want to visit the Main House after our photo shoot?
Great! We would love for you to visit the Main House as well, however, the permit only covers entry to the gardens. Once you have put your props, equipment, and additional outfits back into your vehicle, you can purchase General Admission tickets at the Admission Booth for entry into the Main House. Just note that for the safety of the collection and the enjoyment of other guests, there is no posed photography allowed inside the Main House.
Why can’t I bring a wagon/cart/makeup case on wheels?
In 2019 Vizcaya changed the photo permit policy to include wagons available for loan by reservation. By limiting the amount and type of wagons, we have been able to reduce the amount of damage done to the property. Due to the current pandemic, it was decided to temporarily suspend wheeled carriers until we can develop sanitization methods to ensure the health and safety of the individuals using the wagons.
Can I also film with the same permit?
No, filming would require a different permit. Currently we only have one filming permit option, which starts at $20,000 + tax. For more information about filming, scroll down on this page to the Movie, Television and Video Filming section.
Why is the fee now $250 or $350 online?
The payment for the permit must be paid in full online so that we do not have staff and visitors using shared touch surfaces. This is to ensure the safety of our staff, and visitors as well. In addition to requiring the full payment for the month of June we are also offering a one-time transfer date to another date within 30 days of the original date, in the case of rain or another emergency comes up. Email us to transfer the date of your reservation.
Do I need to wear a mask for my pictures?
Not in your picture. Masks are required at Admissions, restrooms, and in any areas where social distancing of 6’ is difficult (tight pathways). But while in the gardens, masks are still recommended, but not required.
How long will these changes be in place?
We don’t know. We have opened reservations through June only, and are closely following the guidance of the county for social distancing, sanitizing, masks, group gatherings, etc. Follow our social media, and website for updates.
I don’t see my future date on the calendar. When can I purchase my reservation?
We have opened reservations through June only so that we can closely monitor and follow the guidance of the county. We hope to be able to open up future dates as soon as we are able and will post updates to social media or our website.
Can I come for just one hour and pay a different rate?

The Portrait Photography Permit covers up to 5 people (including your photographer, makeup artists, and any assistants). Any less than 5 people and the fee remains the same for the permit. Any more than 5 people and you will be asked to pay the General Admission rates for each additional person. How can I arrange a surprise proposal without paying day-of?
How exciting! We’re so happy to be a part of this big day with you. If you intend to have a photographer with you to capture the moment, you will need to purchase a Portrait Photography Permit rather than just pay General Admission rates. For any additional help keeping this a surprise, email us.
What form of payment do you accept?
Currently we accept credit card payments for online purchases only.
What type of props are allowed on the grounds?
We get all sorts of requests so it’s really best if you email us if you have any unusual props that you aren’t sure about. Remember that we are also open to the public, so we only allow things that are not going to be dangerous or disruptive to other guests.
