Vizcaya Museum and Gardens'
Accessibility Statement
Commitment to Accessibility
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all our visitors. We strive to improve everyone’s user experience continually and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
As of June 11, 2024, we have begun a comprehensive audit of our website aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards. This audit is part of our ongoing commitment to identify and address accessibility issues and ensure our website is accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities.
We will continue to test our website to ensure that all content on the website is accessible to all visitors. We will also continue to work to improve the accessibility standards of our website.
Steps Taken for Accessibility
In 2022, we implemented the UserWay plugin to enhance our website’s accessibility. However, in June 2024, we decided to disable the plugin to focus on making our site more innately and natively accessible to the public.
The museum is currently auditing the site for accessibility and working with a web developer to implement solutions and improvements. This approach aims to provide a seamless and fully integrated accessible experience for all users.
Identified Accessibility Issues
We are aware of existing eReader compatibility issues with sections of select PDFs. Some third-party sites our website links to, such as Blackbaud and Eventbrite, may also present accessibility challenges. We are actively working to address these issues or find alternative platforms.
