Vizcaya Museum and Gardens conducted a full test deployment of its new Tiger Dam™ flood control system in April 2021. Tiger Dam consists of water-inflatable tubes designed to block rising water from storm surge that can flood Vizcaya’s gardens and low-lying areas of the Main House during hurricanes.

Design of Vizcaya’s on-site configuration is by Brizaga Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Engineer of Record and is funded by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
