What is Books & Cooks?
Books & Cooks is a seven-week literacy and nutrition program for select children enrolled in the New Worlds Reading Initiative and their families.
Visit the Books & Cooks booth and enjoy a family-friendly, nutrition-themed Storytime featuring stories, activities, and a free meal. Visitors can also learn more and sign up for Books and Cooks, giving them access to FREE childcare, dinner, and take-home meals.
Each week, educational sessions highlight a different children’s book and will include:
- Cooking demonstrations
- Nutrition education
- Caregiver-child reading activities

Accessibility
To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.

Village Programs + East Side Access
This program occurs in Vizcaya Village, and access to this space is restricted. Program admission does not include access to the Main House and gardens on the east side of the property and only includes access to the Village during program hours, 6-9 pm.
