Volunteer

We are grateful for the support of our volunteers and we encourage you to explore the stimulating opportunities below for helping Vizcaya.

Volunteer Guides

If you enjoy meeting and working with new people and are at least 18 years old, the Vizcaya Volunteer Guides might be the right opportunity for you!

The dedicated men and women who make up the Volunteer Guides have offered tours to the public since 1954—just one year after Vizcaya opened as a museum. Tours are 45 minutes long and discussion based, and they focus on how Vizcaya combines European traditions with an American, and very Miami, context.

As a volunteer, you will receive specialized training in museum education methodology, tour content and facilitation techniques.

Benefits

  • Complimentary daytime admission to the museum.
  • Ongoing training opportunities, including exclusive programs and materials.
  • Discounts on select Vizcaya public programs and in Vizcaya’s Café and Shop.
  • Interacting with people who share your interest in art, history and the environment.

Training

Volunteer Guides training sessions take place once a week for six weeks.
