Directions to Vizcaya
Vizcaya is conveniently located in the north Coconut Grove area of the City of Miami, overlooking Biscayne Bay, just 1/4 mile off of I-95, one mile from downtown Miami and 10 miles from south Miami Beach. As part of Vizcaya’s environmental initiatives, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation such as the Metrorail which stops at the Vizcaya station and is a short ten minute walk to the museum.

Metrorail
When using Miami-Dade’s Metrorail:
- Exit at Vizcaya station.
- Cross US 1 on the pedestrian bridge.
- Continue in the same direction, along 32nd Road, to South Miami Avenue.
- Cross SW 32 Road and proceed to the South Miami Avenue crosswalk at Vizcaya’s Entrance Drive.
- Cross South Miami Avenue and follow pedestrian routes to Vizcaya’s Admission Booth.
Bus + Trolley
Vizcaya is accessible via the following Miami-Dade County Metrobus and City of Miami Trolley routes. Metrobus fare information is available online; Trolleys are free.
- Brickell Trolley (stops on South Miami Avenue; Vizcaya is stop #39 northbound and stop #15 southbound)
- Coral Way Trolley (stops at the Vizcaya Metrorail Station)
- Metrobus Route 17 (stops at the Vizcaya Metrorail Station)
- Metrobus Route 24 Coral Way Limited (stops at the Vizcaya Metrorail Station)
Parking
Vizcaya offers free parking in two parking lots. When the main parking lot on the east side of South Miami Avenue reaches capacity, visitors will be directed to the Vizcaya Village parking lot on the west side of South Miami Avenue. Ride Share Drop-off and Pick-up
Ride share drop-off and pick-up should enter the Entrance Drive on South Miami Avenue. Visitors can be dropped off and picked up in the Piazza where Admissions is located. The address is Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, 3251 South Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33129.
Citi Bike Miami
This bike sharing and rental system provides an additional transportation option for getting around the city. A Citi Bike station is located at Vizcaya at the intersection of South Miami Avenue and SW 32nd Road. For more information, visit Citi Bike Miami.

Vizcaya Village
Vizcaya Village, a historical fam and village, was built alongside the east side of the Vizcaya estate in 1916. Following the model set by villas in Northern Italy, the Village produced crops and housed farm animals, ensuring the Vizcaya estate could remain self-sufficient even in Miami’s early years as a newly incorporated city.
The Village can be found across the street from the Main House and formal gardens, on the west side of South Miami Avenue.

Below, you’ll find simple driving instructions from the east, west, north, and south to help orient you on your journey to Vizcaya Village.
From the East:
- Note: If you’re already east of Vizcaya Village, you might be approaching from Miami Beach or the coastal areas. You’ll need to cross one of the causeways to the mainland.
- Take the MacArthur Causeway (I-395 W) or the Venetian Causeway towards Downtown Miami.
- Merge onto I-95 S towards Coconut Grove.
- Exit at SW 17th Ave via Exit 1.
- Turn left onto SW 17th Ave.
- Continue straight to stay on SW 17th Ave; it becomes South Bayshore Drive.
- Turn right onto SW 32nd Rd. and then make another right into South Miami Avenue
- Vizcaya Village will be on your right.
From the West:
- Head east on Tamiami Trail (SW 8th St/US-41 E) towards Downtown Miami.
- Continue on US-41 E; it becomes SW 7th St as you approach the downtown area.
- Turn left onto SW 17th Ave.
- Continue straight to stay on SW 17th Ave; it becomes South Bayshore Drive.
- Turn right onto SW 32nd Rd. and then make another right into South Miami Avenue
- Vizcaya Village will be on your right.
From the North:
- Take I-95 S toward Miami.
- Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 3A for FL-836 W toward Airport.
- Merge onto FL-836 E via the exit on the left toward Downtown (Portions toll).
- Keep left, follow signs for US-1 and merge onto I-95 S/US-1 S.
- Take the SW 17th Ave exit.
- Turn left onto SW 17th Ave.
- Continue straight to stay on SW 17th Ave; it becomes South Bayshore Drive.
- Turn right onto SW 32nd Rd. and then make another right into South Miami Avenue
- Vizcaya Village will be on your right.
From the South:
- Take US-1 N towards I-95/Downtown Miami.
- Continue on US-1 N. Use the right 2 lanes to take the I-95 S ramp to Downtown.
- Merge onto I-95 S.
- Take the SW 17th Ave exit.
- Turn left onto SW 17th Ave.
- Continue straight to stay on SW 17th Ave; it becomes South Bayshore Drive.
- Turn right onto SW 32nd Rd. and then make another right into South Miami Avenue
- Vizcaya Village will be on your right.
Metrorail
Route: The closest Metrorail station to Vizcaya Village is the Vizcaya Station on the Green Line.
Directions: Once you arrive at the Vizcaya Metrorail Station, exit the station and head east towards SW 32nd Rd. The entrance to Vizcaya Village is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station, following South Miami Ave until you reach SW 32nd Rd, where you will turn left. Vizcaya Village is located on the right side after the turn.
Bus + Trolley
Buses:
Routes: Several Miami-Dade Transit bus lines serve the area around Vizcaya Village. The most convenient routes include the 48, which stops at SW 32nd Rd and SW 3rd Ave, and the 12, which stops on Brickell Avenue. Both stops are within walking distance of Vizcaya Village.
Directions: After disembarking from the bus, walk towards SW 32nd Rd, and head east until you reach the entrance of Vizcaya Village on your right.
Coconut Grove Trolley:
Route: The Coconut Grove Trolley does not directly pass by Vizcaya Village, but it comes quite close. You can take the trolley to its stop near the Vizcaya Metrorail Station, which is also close to the northern boundary of the Coconut Grove area.
Directions: From the trolley stop, proceed to the Vizcaya Metrorail Station and then follow the walking directions from the Metrorail section above to reach Vizcaya Village.
Vizcaya Village Meeting & Program Spaces
The Vizcaya Village Garage and Mechanic’s Shop are located on the west side of South Miami Avenue, across the street from Vizcaya’s Main House and gardens. From South Miami Avenue turn into the parking lot marked Vizcaya Village & Parking. Parking is Free.
