CAP Lab

CAP Lab, an extension of the Contemporary Arts Program, is a program that gives university students the opportunity to work with Vizcaya commissioned artists, create site-specific work, and to deepen and hone their artistic practices.

Since 2014, CAP Lab has partnered with various universities to provide students with real-world experience in the arts and explore the rich and complex situations that arise when developing contemporary art in a historic estate.

While the scope of work varies each semester, CAP Lab has served as a complement to the academic classroom, providing application of theory to practice and opening dialogue about global issues, art, design and history.
