About Read It & Eat It:
Founded in 2025, Read It & Eat It is a cozy, community-centered cookbook club created by cookbook enthusiasts Suanay “Swan” Hernandez and Rosie Castaldo. The club was born from a simple idea: actually cook from their cookbook collections sitting on their shelves, and wondering if other people had the same goal. At each gathering, members explore new recipes, share homemade meals, and dive deep into the stories behind the dishes. Some meetings feature special guest Q&As or demos, offering deeper insight into the books and techniques. Most gatherings are for members only, but sliding scale memberships open every month. With a focus on keeping cookbooks in circulation and building connection through food, Read It & Eat It celebrates the joy of cooking, reading, and, of course, eating.
