Main House | Windows and Doors Mitigation
The Main House is getting a significant storm-readiness upgrade. Original windows and doors are being restored, and new storm panels are being added to protect against hurricane damage.
This project was funded in part by a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Visitors may notice scaffolding on the exterior of the Main House. The project may also result in selective closures or restricted access to some decorated interiors.
Gardens | Maze and Theater Garden
As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the site from extreme weather, we’re installing a new concrete seawall to help mitigate future flooding. While we’re at it, we’re also refreshing the plantings in these areas, introducing new shrubs and greenery to bring renewed life to these intimate garden spaces.
WHAT TO EXPECT: The Maze Garden and Theater Garden are closed.
