Swanee DiMare, a dedicated philanthropist and community leader has been instrumental in preserving Miami’s cultural treasures. Growing up in Coral Gables she has long admired Vizcaya as a place where history, art and nature come together. Since 2004 her involvement with Vizcaya has been particularly noteworthy helping to ensure this cultural landmark remains vibrant for future generations.

“I love Miami because of its diversity, its energy and the strong sense of community that makes the ‘Magic City’ truly magical,” says Swanee. “Vizcaya embodies all of that—it connects us to our past while inspiring the future.”

ABOUT VIZCAYA MUSEUM AND GARDENS  

Le Vizcaya Museum and Gardens est un monument historique national situé à Miami, construit entre 1914 et 1922 pour servir de résidence d'hiver à James Deering. Ouvert en tant que musée public depuis 1953, ce domaine d'inspiration européenne accueille 300 000 visiteurs par an et comprend une maison principale remplie d'arts décoratifs, 10 acres de jardins formels, des forêts indigènes et des rivages de mangrove.      

À l'ouest de la propriété, le village historique de Vizcaya, qui propose un marché de producteurs le dimanche et un nouveau Village Café, est en cours de restauration afin de soutenir de nouveaux programmes communautaires, notamment en matière d'agriculture urbaine.      

Situé au 3251 South Miami Avenue (le Village se trouve de l'autre côté de la rue, au 3250 South Miami Avenue), le Vizcaya Museum and Gardens est ouvert tous les jours, sauf le mardi, de 9h30 à 16h30.
