Identify as being Haitian-American. Even though my mother is of Bahamian descent, her mother is Haitian and raised her in the Haitian culture. That’s all that I know. I have visited both countries, but from a cultural standpoint, the way that we were brought up in the home, we speak Creole. It’s just been Haitian culture.
