Using a resealable plastic bag, a paper towel or napkin, seeds, and water we will discover a low-cost, effective tool for teaching about seeds, germination, and energy.

Through light yoga movements begin to soften, emerge, set roots and bloom as parents/guardians trigger seed growth though role playing conditions seeds need to grow.

It only takes a few pots, some potting soil, seeds and water. We’ll demonstrate how to fill 6 plant start packs with soil, poke a hole in the center of each pack with a finger, place a seed in each hole, and then cover with more soil. In a matter of days, shoots will begin to emerge and provide opportunities for families to continue to observe, chat about and nurture seedlings as they grow. We’ll also provide materials to create a seed ball made up of a combination of seeds, clay, and compost so you can further interact with your environment by launching seed balls anywhere.

Refund requests will be honored if received 48 hours prior to the start of the program. No-shows and late arrivals are not eligible.

Making a donation to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens does not grant entry to this program. Health and safety regulations remain in place. This program is rain or shine.

This program takes place in Vizcaya Village and access is restricted to this space. Program admission does not include access to the Main House and gardens on the east side of the property and only includes access to the Village during program hours, 6-9pm.
