Welcome to the Ecotopia Town Square Festival, a vibrant celebration of art, community, and sustainability. Proof that “art is for everyone,” the Festival brings together creators from all over Miami and all types of disciplines to inspire our community with a day filled with fun, collaboration and creativity.
The best part? All activities are absolutely FREE and open to the public with event registration.

IMPORTANT: This FREE event takes place within the confines of Vizcaya Village and does not include free access to the Main House and gardens on the east side of the property.

🧘 Sound Bowl Meditation – Unwind and find your Zen from 10 am to 11 am with the incredible Stranger Cat (@stranger_cat__). Get ready to be whisked away to a state of pure tranquility.
🌿 Plant Workshop – Green thumbs at the ready! Grab a complimentary plant to add some natural charm to your apartment or garden, thanks to Miami Seed Share (@miamiseedshare).
🛍️ Community Store – Who says shopping can’t be free? Explore the wonders of gently used clothing, accessories, books, art supplies, and children’s toys in our “free-for-all” store by Emily Peters of Recreate Miami (@recreate.miami). Yes, all items at the store are FREE!
🎨 Clothing Personalization – Bring life back to your old wardrobe with a splash of creativity! Join Emily Peters from Recreate Miami to jazz up your clothes using art supplies from the community store. It’s part sewing, part arts and crafts, and a whole lot of FUN!
🌱 Seed Bombs – Calling all little green thumbs! Bring the kids over to create seed bombs with clay and get their hands deliciously dirty. They’ll be thrilled to grow new plants at home, for sure!
🎶 Music by DJ Sol – Get your groove on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as DJ Sol (@solandthetribu) keeps the beats flowing and the energy soaring!
🎨 Community-Made Art Display – Witness the magic of community artmaking! Vizcaya Village hosts numerous free workshops that have culminated in spectacular creations. Prepare to be amazed as you explore the farmers market and Vizcaya Village.
💧 Cool Off Station – Beat the Miami heat at our hydration station, stocked with refreshing and naturally flavored water. Bring your reusable water bottle and stay eco-friendly. Paper cups are on us!
✉️ Poetry Post Office – Let your inner poet shine! Craft heartfelt poems on stunning Vizcaya-themed postcards, guided by local wordsmith, Nico Hough. Then, send your literary masterpieces off to new destinations – postage included!
📸 Portrait Station – It’s time for your closeup! Strike your best pose as the talented photographer extraordinaire, Karli Evans (@allseeingmedia), captures your essence for the iconic Ecotopia Family Photo Album.

Introducing Ecotopia, an innovative fusion of art and environmentalism set to spark community interaction and inspiration. Spanning nine immersive events, Ecotopia invites you to explore the boundless world of creativity through workshops, open mics, a community cookbook, and swap shops.
The series culminates with the Town Square Festival, a vibrant celebration on August 6 that encapsulates our core message – art is for everyone, and together we can make a significant impact. Powered shared resources and shared fun, Ecotopia emphasizes the role of art and the environment in fortifying our communities.
Join us in shaping our collaborative Utopian Town Square and reflect on how to create a superior Miami, a superior world. Come, be part of Ecotopia, where every voice matters, every hand counts, and every heart can make a difference.

Pangea Kali Virga crafts experiential dreamy fantastical worlds using fiber and community as her medium. Social responsibility is pivotal to her art, as she attempts to communicate urgent, difficult messages in beautiful and fun ways through narrative layered fiber art works, dramatic experiential art and performance, free and public sustainable art and skills workshops, and other collaborative projects with public and private community and arts institutions. Pangea has dedicated herself to helping transform the art and fashion industry to be a more sustainable and equitable one, creating art and wearables out of upcycled materials using zero waste practices, supporting her belief in the power of clothing as storyteller, cultural marker, and political catalyst. Outside of her core practice, Kali Virga is a sustainability advocate and lecturer, curator, educator and mentor to many emerging student artists of all ages.

Making a donation to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens does not grant entry to this program. Health and safety regulations remain in place. This program is rain or shine.

This program takes place in Vizcaya Village and access is restricted to this space. Program admission does not include access to the Main House and gardens on the east side of the property and only includes access to the Village during program hours.
