Ecotopia: Painting Workshop

FREE
a photo of a woman with green hair and a jeweled headpiece, along with the words Ecotopia, Mending and Sewing are the primary focus. In the background is a collage of painting materials imagery.

Join local artist Pangea Kali Virga and arts educator Tali Fineberg for a fun 3-hour clothes painting session at Vizcaya Village. Bring items, from jeans to sneakers to totes, to paint, update and add flair while learning various painting techniques! We will have paints in all the colors, stencils, fabric markers, and more to unleash your inner fashion designer! Items from our Sawgrass Swap Shop will also be available.

The Sawgrass Swap Shop welcomes all to come and swap and “shop” a mix of gently used clothing, accessories, books, art supplies, small home goods, and plants during the workshop.

Before you leave, get your photo taken with your new work of fiber art or in your new outfit from the Swap Shop to be included in our Vizcaya Community Family Album.

Ecotopia + the ARtist

Introducing Ecotopia, an innovative fusion of art and environmentalism set to spark community interaction and inspiration. Spanning nine immersive events, Ecotopia invites you to explore the boundless world of creativity through workshops, open mics, a community cookbook, and swap shops.

The series culminates with the Town Square Festival, a vibrant celebration on August 6 that encapsulates our core message – art is for everyone, and together we can make a significant impact. Powered shared resources and shared fun, Ecotopia emphasizes the role of art and the environment in fortifying our communities.

Join us in shaping our collaborative Utopian Town Square and reflect on how to create a superior Miami, a superior world. Come, be part of Ecotopia, where every voice matters, every hand counts, and every heart can make a difference.

Pangea has dedicated herself to helping transform the art and fashion industry to be a more sustainable and equitable one, creating art and wearables out of upcycled materials using zero waste practices, supporting her belief in the power of clothing as storyteller, cultural marker, and political catalyst.
