Vizcaya Late | Village Block Party

Free – $10
View of the Vizcaya Village Garage, an historic building in soft pink, with a red tile roof and green double doors. View is through two open green wood gates. Text Reads: Vizcaya Late Vizcaya Village Block Party. May 24 at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening of art and dancing as Vizcaya Late returns – but this month, in Vizcaya Village!

In Vizcaya’s historic Garage, view the staff art show and see what we’re up to when we’re not working.

Then, work with an artist to create your own artworks in some of the same mediums as the staff pieces! When you’re done with all that, get your groove on with Bachata lessons and live music. We’ll also have food on site for purchase!

  • Food Trucks: BC Tacos and Italian Milkshake USA for dessert
  • Live original music by Miami Bachata artist Kelvy Jai.
  • Bachata lessons by local instructors from Royal Essence Elite.
  • Art exhibit in Vizcaya’s historic Garage featuring works by current staff
  • Take a guided tour through the Vizcaya Village and learn those who have lived and worked there.

See “Activities” below for more detail.

Enjoy a workshop by Miami visual performer and artist, Irina Patterson. Using simple materials, Irina will guide you through the process of creating a unique self-portrait collage inspired by the lush surroundings of Vizcaya.

You’ll begin by selecting a sheet of 14 x 11 cardboard in pink, lime green or purple, before cutting out elements of the face, neck, and hair, as well as lush greenery for the background. Irina will provide colorful scrap paper and Sharpie markers to add details to your portrait. With her guidance, you’ll learn how to create a masterpiece that represents your mood of the moment.

All materials will be provided. No previous artistic experience is necessary.
