Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is partnering up with Miami-Dade County’s Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) to promote Baynanza.
During Baynanza, a yearly tradition that celebrates our unique Biscayne Bay, 7,000 t-shirts are distributed for free to the participating volunteers. Middle school students are invited to enter the Baynanza 2018 t-shirt design contest. Three winners will be selected and the 1st place will have the honor of seeing his/her design featured on the Baynanza 2018 t-shirts!
*Winners will be announced on January 29th, 2018 and recognized at Baynanza 2018 on Saturday, April 21st, 2018.
Baynanza is a celebration of Biscayne Bay and its significance as one of our most important ecological systems in South Florida. While Baynanza includes more than 25 great events throughout March and April, the event that has become nearly synonymous with this celebration the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day. All Miami-Dade county residents can participate in any of the many events leading up to the Cleanup and register to volunteer at one of the sites on Saturday, April 21st, 2018.
Design must be 8x10 inches on white unlined paper
Design can be done in full color
No color gradation allowed
Design must be done in colored pencils, pen or fine point markers only
Design must be unframed, unmounted and without a matte

Entries are accepted September 25th, 2017 to January 12, 2018
Contest closes January 12th, 2018
Entries must be labeled with the following information: Student name, age, address, school, teacher, teacher’s email.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens will receive, store and manage the entries submitted. By submitting an entry to the contest, participants understand that entries might be used by Vizcaya and/or MDC-RER for promotional and marketing purposes, even if the designs have not been selected in the top three.
