Processional Arts Workshop - Bloom

    In celebration of Vizcaya’s centennial, visit the Village at dusk for Bloom: A Caretaker’s Diary, an immersive performance by Processional Arts Workshop (PAW).

    The Performance: Bloom
    Created in local community workshops, a host of illuminated puppets and mobile projections bring retell the history of the Vizcaya Village on Saturday, June 17, at 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

    Explore the transformation of Vizcaya Village as night descends, bringing these creations to life while conjuring visions of what its future can be for our community.

    Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for Vizcaya Members. Children under 5 years old are free. Online tickets go on sale on May 2.


    Free Community Workshops
    Vizcaya and Processional Arts Workshops invites the local Miami community to take part in creating the illuminated constructions that will form part of this very special performance through a series of workshops. Workshops will be free and open to the public.

    About Processional Arts Workshop:
    Processional Arts Workshop (PAW) creates site-specific works and Carnivalesque performances worldwide, always involving local volunteers in the creation of pageant puppetry, mobile architecture, and illuminated structures. They have created community-based performances for NY’s High Line, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Columbia University’s Miller Theatre, Socrates Sculpture Park, Katonah Museum of Art, and as master puppeteers for New York’s Village Halloween Parade. Globally they have collaborated with communities in Kiev, Istanbul, rural Italy, and Trinidad. Their work has been recognized with a Fulbright Scholarship; grants from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and CEC Artslink; a Witt Fellowship at the University of Michigan, and a Kamov residency in Croatia.
