Description: 100 years ago James Deering built Vizcaya with leisure and creativity in mind and it didn't take long for artists to visit and be inspired by the surroundings, including John Singer Sargent, prominent watercolorist. Celebrate our centennial by stepping into Sargent's shoes for an afternoon retreat with the family painting watercolors of our own under the shading canopy of a historic banyan - perhaps one that Sargent painted under himself?!

Moderated by Katie Hagemann of Miami Dade County's Resilience Office, the panel will consider what we can do, collectively and individually, to influence what explorers of the next century will find along South Florida's coastline
